Highlights

Hydra 2.4.2 shipped on 22 October. The release brings higher throughput through larger snapshot batches, faster partial fanout, a Windows hydra-node build, and compatibility with cardano-node 11.1.3. It also includes a delegated-head demo and fixes for deposit handling, snapshot consistency, and recovery from network stalls and restarts. The Windows package is experimental: the merged Windows work tests offline nodes, while live Cardano connectivity and TLS remain untested.

The team encourages all users to update to 2.4.2 as soon as possible.

Maintenance and DevX (M5). The release carries the updated benchmark documentation, including a metrics reference and guidance on interpreting noisy CI comparisons. Together with the revised documentation and cardano-node 11.1.3 compatibility, this completes the three current M5 milestones. Compatibility remains an ongoing maintenance responsibility. A documentation cleanup also updated lifecycle diagrams, commands and API examples.

The solvency proof extension merged, covering close and contest cases using the second signed accumulator and proving full distribution at fanout. Its assumptions and the limits of intermediate partial-fanout coverage remain as described in last week's update.

Next. The rollback and snapshot recovery stack remains under review; the two deposit and decrement fixes opened this week also remain open at the end of the reporting period. The team will continue work on operational metrics and the recipes repository.
